DeepMind safety researcher Neel Nanda says he's impressed by the diversity of funders an AI safety organization has accumulated, noting he didn't know half of them even funded AI safety work. He adds that taking free tokens from companies is a form of compensation but seems closer to having expenses covered than taking funding.
