Indian dev on LLM race: 'We can't outspend Chinese labs,' even sub-100B models win
PrasoonPratham · x · 2026-10-31
PrasoonPratham (156k followers) argues India shouldn't enter a race it knows it will lose: the country lacks the resources to compete with Chinese labs on LLM training — and may not need to. He adds that even if India did train its own models, they'd likely be outclassed by sub-100B-parameter Chinese models, and wishes homegrown startup Sarvam success anyway.
