In his thread on collective AI control, iamtrask argues that model fusion, ensembles, and routers are already achieving higher accuracy at lower cost than frontier AI systems — they just don't show up on major leaderboards. He adds that collectively controlled AI would also be easier to regulate with less risk of regulatory capture.
