Minecraft is now too big for RL: dev suggests training on older versions instead

In a thread on CUDA-replicated Minecraft worldgen, gandamuml notes that earlier versions are a better fit for RL in most ways. Porting the game revealed how extremely large it has become — far more than needed to learn or demonstrate some intelligence. Fine-tuning an agent trained on an older version onto the latest one could still be fun, he muses.
