After 20 years in Army Cyber Command, digital forensics lead joins AI evals group METR as advisor

Chase Hasbrouck, who spent a 20-year US Army career most recently leading digital forensics and malware analysis at Army Cyber Command, is joining AI evaluation nonprofit METR as an advisor.
He says much of his career went into investigating security incidents and helping organizations understand and respond to them, and after transitioning out of the Army he's increasingly convinced that experience is relevant to frontier AI systems. METR's focus on rigorous evidence about AI capabilities and risks made it a natural fit.
