Palantir CEO Alex Karp made the case for Sovereign AI: enterprises shouldn't expose their value to external providers, and can capture the whole value of their stack with their own fine-tuned models—frontier or open-weight.
He says Palantir already runs this approach in many environments, especially classified ones, where an application layer lets models outperform frontier models at lower cost, with no safety concerns and full control of the alpha.
