Recurrent Looped Transformer report: looped decoding with global KV memory
rasbt · x · 2026-09-14
Sebastian Raschka comments on a new technical report, noting resemblance to an encoder-decoder global KV cache with looped transformer. The Recurrent Looped Transformer (RLT) extends the loop across tokens: the decoder recurs over every token, prompt and response included, while a causal encoder builds global KV memory; for each new token the decoder combines its encoder representation with its previous final hidden state.
