Chinese Optical Transceiver Makers Dodge US Blacklist; Zhongji Innolight Jumps 4%

The US FCC has finalized updates to its equipment authorisation rules, and Chinese optical transceiver makers escaped a feared ban. The rule tightens requirements for devices containing components from entities on the Covered List — a US national-security blacklist — but optical transceivers were not targeted, calming fears stoked by an August Reuters report that the Trump administration was drafting measures to block new Chinese models from the US market.
Zhongji Innolight, a leading data-center transceiver producer, closed up about 4% in Shenzhen and 4.37% in Hong Kong, while Eoptolink gained nearly 3%; Suzhou TFC Optical Communication fell 2.62% in Shenzhen. Optical transceivers are central to AI data-center interconnects, a domain where Chinese suppliers command a dominant market position.
