Economist proposes diff-based open letters, with AI mapping where signers agree and disagree

Economist John Horton proposes replacing yes/no open-letter signatures: organizers draft the letter, each signer publishes a diff of their edits (additions, removals, qualifications), then AI summarizes where people agree and disagree. The idea responds to the game-theoretic flaw flagged by @alzzyd: open letters get watered down to commit to nearly nothing in order to attract big-name signatories.
