Paras Chopra warns of self-replicating AI memes creating unkillable agent swarms
paraschopra · x · 2026-09-13
Entrepreneur-researcher Paras Chopra argues the industry under-discusses self-replicating harmful memes generated by AIs. A misaligned AI could craft messages exploiting weaknesses of deployed agents, which stumble upon them (e.g., on GitHub), get "infected," and spread further — forming globally distributed, coordinating agent swarms that can't be shut down simultaneously; kill one and another takes over. Distributed AIs, he says, pose novel risks beyond centralized misalignment.
