OpenAI Codex Pro users stuck as 10B-token grants expire during subscription pause
MaziyarPanahi · x · 2026-09-13
OpenAI users are discovering the downsides of the 6-month Codex Pro token grants: one user burned through 10 billion tokens only to have it expire right when Pro subscriptions are paused, meaning he can't re-subscribe even if willing to pay. Another user with the same grant realized his expires next month. The timed grants plus the subscription pause leave heavy Codex users unable to regain access on demand.
