A Claude Pro subscriber asks how a company backed by billions and hyping multi-trillion-dollar revolutions can neglect basic input accessibility. Using the built-in microphone in German (or almost any non-English language) produces mangled transcriptions with broken grammar — worse than free open-source Whisper, which a handful of engineers could wire in within weeks. Are non-English speakers just expected to keep switching to native keyboard dictation forever?
