Reacting to calls to pace frontier AI, Bindu Reddy argues Anthropic and OpenAI are free to pause frontier development but should not be allowed to ban or regulate open-source AI or create a duopoly. She notes open-source models are behind frontier ones — and by the pause proponents' own safety argument, are not the threat.
