AI researcher on Millennium Problems: answers mostly known, discovery isn't the goal

Amid a debate over what metric AI progress should use, Blanche Minerva notes that the answers to most Millennium Prize Problems are effectively known — discovering them isn't really the goal. On Yang-Mills in particular: the problem asks you to construct an object and prove the "mass gap" is positive, but quantum physics implies the gap exists and it has literally been measured, so the conjecture could conceivably be false in a strange way. She adds that P≠NP, RH, and the Yang-Mills mass gap being true are near-consensus; Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer is generally believed true with slightly less confidence; and the Hodge Conjecture is the only one with serious doubt.
