Week 7 of an AI-built fishing game: water shader rewrite lifts MacBook fps from 14 to 27

RUSuper · reddit · 2026-09-12

Week 7 update on a fishing game made almost entirely with AI: a full water shader rewrite (replacing 2,000+ scattered lines) is better looking and much faster—MacBook went from 14fps to 27fps at max settings, 130fps+ on a friend's PC. New content includes a graveyard island with a truck, a waterfall, a lighting/weather system with randomly striking lightning, and dolphins/whales offshore. Complex models (dolphins, whale, cargo ship) were made in Tripo 3D, simpler ones by Astra in Blender, while Fable 5.1 and Opus handle nearly all game logic and systems depending on difficulty.
