Anthropic's interactive explorer maps AI economic scenarios — knowledge workers hit in high-growth futures

Anthropic's economics team launched an interactive scenario explorer based on its report "Economic Scenarios for Transformative AI" (Korinek et al., 2026). Users plug in expectations for AI capability and adoption to see the implied 2030 US economy. Key findings: in business-as-usual up to 2x growth scenarios, unemployment stays in historical range and wages hold or rise; but in historically unprecedented growth scenarios, knowledge workers face wage and job prospects damage — the challenge is broadly sharing the gains. Jessica Hullman quips that bringing back scrollytelling "may be the strongest evidence of misalignment yet."
