Dev builds Be My Eyes-inspired app for blind users on GPT-Live-1 API
pbbakkum · x · 2026-09-12
A developer built an app inspired by Be My Eyes that lets blind and low-vision users ask AI about what's in front of their camera, using GPT-Live-1 for voice conversation and GPT-5.6 to analyze snapshots for reading labels and identifying products. It piggybacks on OpenAI's announcement that GPT-Live-1 is now available in the API, enabling natural back-and-forth voice agents.
