Apple ML Research presents SimpleDesign, a generative model that jointly codesigns protein sequence and 3D structure. Unlike prior multi-stage pipelines (autoencoder tokenization followed by latent-space generative modeling), it directly models the intrinsic multimodal relationship, with applications in drug discovery and protein engineering.
