Claude Code Cowork bug: desktop VM and cloud container both lose egress mid-session on macOS
justmark · ghdev · 2026-09-11
Claude Code issue #93494 (reproduced, macOS Cowork): mid-session, outbound network access died simultaneously from both the desktop workspace VM and the cloud container, after working for days. File access was unaffected; only package registries and Anthropic endpoints still resolved, while huggingface.co, api.elevenlabs.io, google.com and docs.claude.com failed. The desktop VM got a 403 with 'X-Proxy-Error: blocked-by-allowlist' on a LAN address, pointing to the agent's proxy allowlist. The author rules out the Sep 10 Windows drive-access incident (Windows-only, different symptoms) and notes the cloud container — not the user's hardware — was affected identically.
