Blacksmith ships free default container caching, CI jobs 25-89% faster
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-09-11
Blacksmith has enabled container caching by default for every org, at no cost.
- How it works: Docker-based CI jobs repeatedly pull the same images (Postgres, Redis, Compose stacks, base images). Blacksmith persists each org's Docker image store on a sticky disk so images are already local when the next runner starts.
- Zero effort: no config, no cache keys, no workflow changes needed.
- Results: across six real CI jobs, end-to-end speedups of 25-89%.
