Dev accuses ex-OpenAI researcher of milking 'minute tenure' for startup clout in AI safety spat

Developer anpaure publicly accused a former OpenAI researcher turned founder of 'laundering' his brief OpenAI tenure for startup publicity, calling him a contrarian on almost anything if it gets his name out there.
The spat started when the founder claimed they must have had 'very different OpenAI experiences', saying that until recently, being outspoken about AI safety and existential risk brought constant disagreement and unpopularity, with incentives pushing against thinking hard about it. The reply disputes that framing, making this a first-person clash over what OpenAI's internal safety culture was actually like.
