Wipe your Claude Code configs: dev says cleanup beat every new model release
tetsuoai · x · 2026-09-11
A long-time Claude Code user says he deleted all legacy agent configs — CLAUDE.md files at every level, memory folders, Skills, slash commands, hooks, permission allowlists, MCP configs, plugins, subagents, old indexes and handoff notes — because they were written for models that no longer exist. He claims this full cleanup improved his coding agents more than any new model release.
