Hyperscalers could factor RSA-1024 for about $30M per number, analysis claims
rickasaurus · x · 2026-09-11
An analysis cited by QiaochuYuan estimates that hyperscalers or frontier AI labs could likely factor RSA-1024 integers at a cost on the order of $30 million per number — and substantially less with further optimization — raising questions about the real-world security margin of RSA-1024 against well-resourced attackers.
