Positron AI Raises $875M Series C at $5B Valuation, Deploying 50+ Atlas Racks at Oracle Cloud

AI inference chip startup Positron AI announced an $875M Series C at a $5B valuation, co-led by NEA, Atreides Management (Gavin Baker), Valor Equity (Antonio Gracias), Andra Capital, and SemiAnalysis Capital (Dylan Patel), with SGI/Netscape founder Jim Clark also participating. Strategic backers include VentureTech Alliance, Hudson River Trading, Cisco Investments, and Naver Ventures, alongside continued support from Arm, Jump Trading, and Qatar Investment Authority. The funds support expansion—Positron is deploying over 50 racks of its Atlas inference servers at Oracle Cloud. CEO Thomas Sohmers, reportedly the youngest-ever Thiel Fellow, founded the company as a teenager.
