A feature-by-feature breakdown of the four AI capabilities Apple announced with iPhone 18:
- Siri can now see your screen and act on it, drawing on messages, email and photos, plus a Camera mode. Caveats: English-only beta, unavailable in the EU at launch, no access under 13, undisclosed daily caps on cloud features.
- A20 Pro Neural Engine: 32 cores total, double the AI throughput of A19 Pro, first high-volume smartphone chip on TSMC's 2nm process.
- Reference Image: hardware-level per-pixel signing at capture for tamper-proof photo evidence, with third-party API access — opt-in only, unavailable in China at launch, EU gets no capture at launch.
- Smaller updates: Photos Spatial Reframing, better Clean Up, photorealistic Image Playground, Safari Notify Me.
