Training a Unitree G1 to juggle a soccer ball in MuJoCo — 5 keepy-uppies so far
hbouammar · x · 2026-09-10
Developer hbouammar shared progress on training a Unitree G1 robot to juggle a soccer ball. Working in MuJoCo physics simulation, the controller reacts to the ball in real time and switches feet between kicks; the robot currently manages 5 keepy-uppies before losing the ball.
The next milestone is reaching 10 while staying balanced. A hands-on sim-to-real practice project the author plans to keep updating.
