Hands-on takes from Apple's event: foldable iPhone Duo, AirPods 5 steal the show

A blogger's first-hand read on Apple's event: the foldable iPhone Duo (from $1,999, side-mounted Touch ID, under-display camera, Apple Pencil support) doesn't ship until Oct 16, making AirPods 5 — noise cancellation without ear tips, stem volume controls, live translation, no price hike — the immediate winner. iPhone 18 Pro Max impresses with 45-hour video playback and 15-min-to-50% charging. Other notes: manual camera mode with an "AI film negative" raw backup, smaller Dynamic Island, 80% faster AirDrop, and an Apple Watch LiveRewind feature that replays the last 15 seconds of conversation — though the author questions its always-listening battery cost.
