Every AI Safety person started as a techno-optimist, argues longtime insider
menhguin · x · 2026-09-10
The author claims every AI Safety person they know started as a techno-optimist, and that every e/acc argument — Kardashev scales, Markov chains, entropy, AGI abundance — was already discussed in AI Safety/LessWrong circles: 'the same joke, but louder.' They add it's strange for Zoomers to assume Doomers are blind to AI's positive potential, since the median doomer (AI Safety/EA type) is a very terminally-online techbro, and that discourse overall is anxiety-driven.
