Julien Dubois, Principal Manager of Java Developer Relations at Microsoft/GitHub and creator of JHipster, shared his full playbook for agentic development: without ever opening his IDE, he merged 223 pull requests in 11 days (20/day), shipping 83k lines of code for BootUI, a production-grade Spring Boot 4 starter that adds an embedded, local-only developer console.

- The project had been on his wishlist for years: 40 panels integrating a dozen JVM subsystems (Actuator, Spring Security, Flyway/Liquibase, Hibernate, Micrometer/OTLP, GraalVM, OSV scanning, ArchUnit). Estimated at 6.5–8.5 months for one senior dev by hand — too big to justify until he stopped writing code himself.
- His workflow: drive a fleet of agents in parallel by day, do a few deep plans by night, merge wins over coffee. Agents handled scaffolding, panels and tests; he did architecture, review and judgment.
