Spring AI 2.1.0-RC1 adds tool-call confirmation, pausing agent loops before real-data access
therealdanvega · x · 2026-10-26
Spring AI 2.1.0-RC1 and 2.0.2 are out. The RC1 headline feature: mark a tool with requiresConfirmation = true and the tool loop pauses until your app approves or denies the call—a guardrail before agents touch real data. Other updates: MessagePart content is now natively produced and consumed by major chat models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google GenAI, Bedrock Converse, Ollama, Mistral, DeepSeek), keeping reasoning blocks and provider thinking signatures intact across conversations; session memory ships in Spring AI itself; pre-computed embeddings gain query-vector search; and reasoningcontent replay on OpenAI-compatible endpoints is now configurable.
