Argument: distrust of Altman is the underlying logic behind Anthropic's founding

Continuing a thread on Anthropic's origins, menhguin argues the lab was founded as a direct response to Dario and others distrusting Sam Altman's conduct. Nobody would put "we think Altman is evil" in a policy brief, but given Dario's premises—that the likeliest AGI winner is untrustworthy—blocking that outcome is a perfectly reasonable conclusion of last resort.
