Local Qwen 27B on an RTX 3090 Builds a Playable Mario Clone From One Prompt
ChopSticksPlease · reddit · 2026-09-09
A Redditor tested claims that local Qwen can build games, and it delivered: Qwen3.8-27B-UD-Q4KXL (100k ctx, RTX 3090, llama.cpp) running via Cline Act mode produced a complete, playable Super Mario Bros browser clone from a single prompt, with decent graphics and keyboard controls. The playable HTML is public.
The post includes the full llama-server config — draft-mtp speculative decoding, q80 KV cache, flash-attn, reasoningeffort medium — showing a small local LLM on consumer hardware can one-shot a complex coding task.
