Anthropic quits major tech group ITI over chip export-control stance

Anthropic has broken from the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) over chip export controls. ITI last week wrote to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees urging lawmakers to strip three export-control bills from the annual defense policy bill: the AI OVERWATCH Act, the Chip Security Act, and the MATCH Act. The split highlights growing divergence between leading AI labs and mainstream tech lobbying groups on chip policy.
