DeepMind's AlphaGenome Atlas Precomputes Effects of 9 Billion DNA Variants

Google DeepMind has released AlphaGenome Atlas, a precomputed database covering 9 billion single-variant changes across the human genome.
- Built on AlphaGenome, the model released last year that analyzes noncoding DNA (which largely regulates gene activity) and predicts each variant's impact on molecular function
- All analysis is precomputed: researchers can query any DNA variant in a browser and see predicted tissue-level effects
- DeepMind VP Pushmeet Kohli called it the first time any researcher can access a comprehensive map of the human genome and its variations by simply opening a browser
The atlas could significantly streamline genetics research into a wide range of diseases.
