Meta has released Muse, a personal AI agent that automates digital tasks in a secure cloud environment with privacy "built into it" from the start.
- Availability: dedicated iOS/Android app, Muse.ai website, and direct messaging via WhatsApp; AI glasses support coming soon
- Capabilities: Meta says Muse can sell your car, book flights, or plan a European road trip with "no learning curve"; it was internally tested under the codename "Hatch" by employees autonomously operating third-party apps
- Competition & monetization: positions against viral agents OpenClaw and Instinct; free to try, but heavy task automation requires a Meta AI subscription. Built by Meta Superintelligence Labs, the unit Zuckerberg formed about a year ago to catch up with OpenAI and Anthropic.
