On Tesla's autonomy debate: the author agrees true Level 5 autonomy is at least 3+ years away, but argues Tesla has already achieved functional autonomy sufficient for a taxi service, as has Waymo. The difference, he claims, is that Tesla can run it profitably and better — reconciling "years away" with a service running today.
