AI for circuit design: compute isn't the bottleneck, physical reality is still the best simulator
yacineMTB · x · 2026-09-08
A hardware-AI debate between zackslab and yacineMTB: zackslab argues that simulating every net on every design — self-interference, environmental noise, temperature — would take enormous compute and optimization, so far the best 'simulation' is simply building the thing and running it in physical reality. yacineMTB counters that this won't help AI write software since 'people are dog shit at writing software.' The underlying point: hardware lacks software's cheap executable feedback loop, which may explain why AI adoption is structurally slower there.
