The author criticizes researchers for rationalizing career incentives through endless process arguments as outside disruption looms, devaluing their field. Even the dumbest capitalist, he argues, would seize the moment by marketing themselves as reviewers and explainers of the flood of new discoveries — and profit — instead of complaining about losing control.
