Airbnb CEO Chesky: pure people managers and change-resisters won't survive the AI era
fortune · reddit · 2026-10-27
Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said on the Invest Like the Best podcast that two types of people "will not make the shift to AI": pure people managers, and rigid workers who refuse to change. The biggest risk isn't the technology itself but refusing to evolve.
Contrast: Anthropic's Dario Amodei previously warned AI could disrupt half of entry-level white-collar work (softening this year), while Microsoft AI chief Mustafa Suleyman estimates most professional work could be replaced within 12-18 months. Chesky is more optimistic, contingent on adapting.
