Third entry in gleech's thread on the word "neuralese": CLAUDISH / DELVISH — the idiolect of dry assistant-style LLMs, which is uncompressed if anything, full of annoying parallelism, sentimentality and false balance, i.e. "Corporate Memphis English."
Linked Guardian article by Stuart Heritage argues ChatGPT's telltale "It's not X, it's Y" construction is now absolutely everywhere — from algorithmically suggested Facebook posts to Peloton instructors and TV dialogue — turning readers hypervigilant, like the protagonist of The Number 23.
