GPT-6 Astra sweeps FrontierMath and ARC-AGI 3; essay argues its only flaw is being 'too good'

OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra, overtaking Anthropic's new Fable 5.1 across the benchmark suite and effectively saturating FrontierMath and ARC-AGI 3, with president Greg Brockman calling it the entry to a 'new era of artificial general intelligence'. The launch post became OpenAI's most-liked ever and dealt a blow to Anthropic's IPO narrative.
In The Algorithmic Bridge, Alberto Romero argues the model's one big problem is that it's 'too good': paper benchmarks set expectations no real-world rollout can meet, because the world cannot move as fast as digital information — human inertia and slow adaptation are the bottleneck. His conclusion: the only remaining test is reality itself, not new benchmarks.
