Former OpenAI safety executive Miles Brundage confirmed that "GPT-6" now shows up across multiple OpenAI product surfaces, though he says it wasn't there when the product first rolled out to him nor in early versions of the blog post. He quipped that as long as AI doesn't kill us, things can be named whatever. A commenter speculated GPT-6 might be the mainstream term while "Astra" is the insider name; Brundage didn't directly deny it.
