Meta entered AIRA3, its next-gen autonomous AI research system, into a live NVIDIA-run Kaggle competition in June: fine-tune a 30B Nemotron model to reason better, with all competitors given the same information and graded externally on a private test set. AIRA3 placed 8th out of 4,000 teams to win gold, beating human competitors with the same frontier tools. Meta sees this as a reliable signal the system can improve a targeted model capability at near-human-expert level. Andrew Carr likens it to OpenAI's IMO/IOI results a year ago, but for RSI.
