Agents can now send emails and push code — but most setups still have zero audit logging

A developer running agents for PR summaries, Notion updates, and Gmail found silent failures (claimed updates that never happened, off-content emails) with no logs to trace. He argues agent transparency — recording every tool call's origin, success/failure, latency, and credit cost via an audit trail — matters more than capabilities right now: it caught silent failures and changed how he chains agents. Analogy: deploying a microservice with zero logging would get you fired, yet most agent setups have no observability at all.
