Even AI insiders haven't grasped that AIs will collectively surpass humans soon

AI safety researcher Jeff Ladish argues that even most AI practitioners haven't internalized that, absent a change of course, AIs will collectively become far more powerful than humans soon — and will have their own drives and goals, aligned or not. He finds that demonstrating swarm behavior helps people understand this, but few can fully update their worldview on it.
