awesome-local-ai: one-command installers pair local models with coding agents, benchmarked on real hardware
julianharris · x · 2026-09-05
awesome-local-ai on GitHub offers tested one-command setups for running capable models locally, wired to a coding agent.
- Every combination is a tested pairing of model, hardware, and stack; all performance and memory numbers were measured on real hardware, not estimated
- Example configs: Qwen 3.8 27B on Ubuntu + 4090 24GB via llama.cpp + unsloth 4bit; MTPLX 2.11 with its custom Flash-Next kernel on a 128GB Mac
- Installs an OpenAI-compatible API server with a coding agent (opencode) already connected
- ./install.sh picks the right combo for your machine; ./start.sh starts/stops the server on demand
