NTU Singapore's Seed-Sized Magnetic Robot Switches Between 5 Surgical Functions in Under a Second

Scientists at NTU Singapore have built a seed-sized magnetic robot that moves across soft, uneven surfaces and wirelessly performs five surgical functions — moving, cutting tissue, releasing drugs, gripping and storing samples, and generating heat for treatment — switching between them in under a second. Unlike today's large external surgical robots, it points toward tiny machines working inside the body with less invasiveness and more precision, moving closer to the clinic.
