Frontend-only view explains "coding is solved" claim, argues HPC engineer

Commenting on the "normal coder vs vibe-coder" debate, the author argues most people equate coding with simple frontend work (JavaScript + HTML/CSS), which is why many think "coding is solved."
But anyone working on complex backend, HPC, or scientific code sees it differently — system design is not solved yet. Once a system is designed, AI coding agents can automate a lot, but humans must stay in the loop, especially early on.
Maintenance is another blind spot: full autonomy on complex systems is doubtful, though it may work for frontend code.
