Baseten announced Base Labs, a research organization dedicated to advancing open-source AI, with a rule to publish all results without exception, including failures.

The founding team previously built Parsed Labs, training open models customer by customer before being acquired by Baseten; a year of training engagements yielded insights on how models learn, forget, and specialize that were never shared.
Research areas: continual learning, the science of RL, and model lifecycle learning, with all experiments and recipes open.
BaseHub Data Foundry: high-quality open RL environments, training data, and real-world benchmarks.
Post-post training: continual post-training to make open-source models better, safer, and more aligned.
