JFPuget described starting a new project by spending the whole day reading code — a "bad habit" from the pre-AI era, he admits, but one that now serves a new purpose: understanding the codebase so he can steer his coding agent more effectively when building or improving it. He also noted the dystopian feeling of watching people freeze simply because an AI provider went offline.
